Snap Edge / Vertex / Surface to Surface

@karl, I just had a chance to try the feature. I definitely work! This will save me a huge amount of time. Thank you so much! Two details that I noticed are that: The detection logic seems to struggle with which surface with which to snap, so will rapidly switch between two surfaces while attempting to snap (with caution, I have no trouble snapping to the correct one, though). Probuilder outputs numerous errors on the newest Unity beta (v5.4.0b3). Looks like they changed something. There are a handful of errors, but these appear to the be main two: NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object UnityEngine.Mesh.set_triangles (System.Int32[] value) (at C:/buildslave/unity/build/Runtime/Export/Mesh.cs:268) ArgumentException: Getting control 5's position in a group with only 5 controls when doing Repaint Aborting UnityEngine.GUILayoutGroup.GetNext () (at C:/buildslave/unity/build/Runtime/IMGUI/Managed/GUILayoutUtility.cs:665) With that said, both issues are easy to work around, so I am quite happy, and again, appreciative. Thank you so much for implementing this feature. It's hard to convey how much time this will save me. Please, have a wonderful day and be well! - S. PS: I just received the invite link to the ProBuilder beta form in my Email, yet it was dated 01/22. Not certain what happened, but it seems like either your mail server or mine was delaying it. Either way, that explains the confusion. Thank you!

*facepalms* Yes. Vertex snapping is already in. Forgive me, it has been a while! Edge snapping would certainly be useful, but I suspect something that can be worked around. Thank you so much for your prompt responses. Enjoy your weekend! - S.

Ahh. It's off-site. I never saw or received the link. I've downloaded the newest beta, and look forward to testing it out over the weekend. Is there still plans on implementing a snap to edge and snap to vertex features? This would allow us to create perfect edges / angles prior to welding. Thank you so much for the link, and the feature! Be well! - S.

@Karl, Apologies, but this is the second time I've searched the website and the forum for the beta group (just spent ten minutes, and spent a bit longer before). I see the "Unity 5 Beta > Bug Reports" forum, but nothing else (and I didn't see any links in there). Could you direct me on how to navigate to the group and how to join? Thank you so much in advance! - S.

Snap Edge / Vertex / Surface to Surface

Karl, Thank you so much! I'm glad to hear the feature is right around the corner. Please understand my persistence is only proportionate to my desire to use ProBuilder as my core product, not as any lack of appreciation. I'll keep a close eye on this thread! Thank you so much, and be well! - S.

Snap Edge / Vertex / Surface to Surface

Karl, I was excited to see v2.4.9f1 released on the asset store today, but was disappointed to see that the Edge / Vertex / Surface snapping feature was not included. Given your prior response, I was under the impression that it would be included in this version, at the latest (or possibly sooner in a beta). I've held off working on my prop design for months now and may need to seek other solutions if this feature is far off. Is there any chance this will be released in patch soon? Also, it seems that the downloads for both ProBuilder and ProGroups in the User Toolbox are not yet updated. I only mention it because I would want to grab the ProBuilder Upgrade Kit before updating my current version. As always, thank you for your response. Be well! - S.

Thank you for the prompt response! I'm glad to hear that it is still planned for the next version. I completely understand the inability to provide the a timeframe. I only asked in the case you already had a release date planned. Thank you again for the response, the feature, and ProBuilder itself! - S.

Karl, any word on whether or not this was able to make it into the 2.4.9 update, and when it can be expected (ish)? I'm excited to continue the modeling aspect of my project. Thank you so much in advance! Be well! - S.

Karl, I hope that Unite went fantastically for yourself and the rest of the ProTools team! I hope that you will have an opportunity to consider the feature request we were discussing last month. Thank you in advance, and be well! - S.

XD Why not? They provide the exact metric measurements for all of their furniture, and online assembly guides. They're actually great for an online modeling furniture reference!
